Classical Tajwid Series
A series dedicated to the study of classical tajwīd texts in chronological order, students will:
1. Develop an appreciation of how the Salaf taught and studied knowledge;
2. Understand the rich history of tajwīd and its development through the centuries;
3. Study classical literature to connect to our rich Islamic scholarship and heritage.
Each course in the series is modular, i.e. not dependent on another; that said, students will grasp an appreciation for the development of the science through study across all the texts. Recordings of lessons to review will be made available for selected students.
- First Text: Manzūmat al-Khāqānī (d. 325AH) – this course was delivered in January 2024. Students are able to enquire for access to recordings
This Dawrah will be on the second text in the series: Qasīdah fī al-Tajwīd, authored by Abī al-Hussain Muhammad bin Ahmad bin Abd al-Rahman al-Multī ash-Shafi’ī (d.377AH)
