Introduction to the Course
Matn al-Jazariyyah was authored by the renowned scholar Imām Ibn al-Jazarī. The text serves as a Tajwīd primer and is relied on pedagogically across the Muslim world. It focuses on the Arabic letters—both articulation points and attributes—as well as the conventions of Qur’anic recitation.
For this reason, Imām Jazarī Institute has organised this dawrah to provide an intensive yet comprehensive commentary on this important text. The course will be delivered by the institute’s dean, Sh. Shoieb Aly, who will be joined by Sh. Ahmed Kamel. Upon completion, students will gain a deep understanding of the entire text.
These two days will form part one of a two-part course. Students who complete the full course have the opportunity to attain Ijāzah in the matn.
Students embarking on the journey of Ijāzah at the institute will be required to have both the Tuḥfah and Jazariyyah texts memorised and understood.
