Explanation of Tuhfat al-Atfal

Tuhfat al-Atfal is a principal tajwīd text which discusses the main rulings of recitation in a concise, simple, and clear manner.

It was authored by Imam Jamzūrī, Allah have mercy upon him, who intended his work to be a primer for beginners in the field. You will not find a respectable Qur'anic institute except that it teaches this poem to its students, and they in turn memorise it, extending a chain of transmission that goes back to the author himself.
